THOMPSON
- Phil White I am looking
for family history information on GIDEON HENDRIX/HENDRICKS s/o
GIDEON who resided Walton Co 1820-60? & possibly the gson
of SION/SIAH HENDRIX who was in Whites District, Elbert Co., Georgia
in the early 1800's and appears to have drawn land in the 1827
lottery when he was living in the 249th GA Militia District as a

- Gloria Padach - seamore@earthlink.net John
Farley THOMPSON, wife Elizabeth, d Elbert Co , will dated 3
Sept 1793 with children: John, Isham, Peter, Sally, Mary, Tabitha,
William, Robert, Millie, Farley & Lewis Bevel. I especially
need info on John, b ca 1755-60, believed to be the eldest child.
Brother, Isham , has been identified and line accounted for but other
children have not. So far one document in Ga connects
John to family - in the estate of Isham, 'John Thompson applied
for letters of Administration 26 Mar 1796, caveat by Elizabeth W
Thompson, widow of Isham, 3 Apr 1796'. John & Isham appear
as witness in Mecklenburg Co Va deed for John Farley Thompson 11
June 1770, Isham on several others & John on 26 Jan 1771.
This John Thompson may be the same one who married in Mecklenburg Co
Va to Sarah Thompson sur: Asa Oliver, 8 May 1775. John &
Sarah sell 50 ac in Mecklenburg in 1784, the NW area of the county
in Bluestone Creek area while John Farley's land was ca SE in Allen
Creek area. Believe that John Farley Thompson and family were in
Ga after Aug 1771 as that is the last deed found for him in Mecklenburg
Va
- Martha Poplin - mpoplin6@comcast.net Following from
Elbert Co Returns of Administrators & Guardinas, Will Bk K, 1813-16,
page 315. "ISHAM THOMPSON, dec'd. Receipts of G. Walthall, Jr, guardian
if Isham Thompson, 18 June 1799; of Tryon Harris, gdn of Sally Thompson,
29 Dec 1798 & 1802; of M. Woods, gdn of Wiley Thompson, 9 Aug 1799;
of Wiley Thompson 14 Jan 1803; of Lewis Mosely, gdn of Patsy Thompson,
minor 1 Oct 1799; of John Alexander for his wife's part, Tabitha, dau
of said dec'd 10 Dec 1806; of Tryon Harris for his wife's part, 26 Sept
1806; of Jency E Thompson, heir of said father, 19 Sept 1815. George Cook
& Elizabeth Cook, Administrators. "
Since Tryon Harris took his wife's part & also
named gdn of Sally Thompson, it appears that Tryon must have been married
to a Thompson girl, but to my knowledge, he was married to an 'Elizabeth"
or 'Betsy" and much later to Sarah Alexander. Does anyone have any idea how
Tryon Harris was related to Isham or other Elbert Co Thompsons?
